What do you do with your catchdog while hunting? 1. Run them with you and lead them to the catch? or 2. Let them range with the strike & baydogs, and be a running catchdog? & If you use a vest or not, on your catchdogs. If you use a vest please list what kind. Please elaborate on why you do what you do on all subjects.... Thanks, and looking forward to the responses.. (the boards been slow lately, lets see if we can start getting it rolling again! )

i keep my catchdog on the lead with me. the reason being, a free ranging catchdog can end up caught on a hog a good ways away from you and the longer a dog is on a hog the more likely it will be cut. i like to prolong the life of my dogs.
on the next question... yes and no. it all depends on temperature, and the dog im using. if its a real hot and humid day and if i plan on hunting pretty hard i wont use a vest. and it varies on the dog i have. some dogs are worse about getting cut than others.

We do both, we have a special breed that we have been breeding that we can let run with the baydogs or we lead or pits. We use southern cross, they advertize with the magazine and make a well made kevlar vest.

In Australia there are some very lethal razor backs and scrub bull. What's the toughest challenge in America?
