tired as all hell though. We came across that first one. The dogs let out to quick barks and we didnt here em' anymore. 2 minutes later it was on. See when those dogs barked that hog took off and the dogs where in chase. Once we heard them baying they where now across this huge canal I mean this canal must be about 40 to 50 yards across. They where fight n' it on the other end. They wouldnt let this hog come out of the water. Now the major problem was that gators where starting to swim towards all that comotion. Needless to say my buddy made sure those gators weren't gonna be a problem...lol. The bad news was we had to now get to the other side . By the time we were able to get to the truck and drive there these dogs were on this hog for about 20 min. We didnt need a catch dog the baydogs did a good job . We were able to reach in and leg it. The hard part was getting back up this drop off while holding on to the hog.My buddy and I both held one leg and my brother helped us up with the other arm. We then came across to more hogs, another barr and a sow. It was funny cause the dogs didnt even let us know that they were within yards from us. When my buddy shined the spot light all the dogs were in a stalking motion and hogs scattered as soon as the spot light shined on them. There must've been about 10 hogs running all around us. The dogs bayed up one. Rocko was turned loose and caught it. My brother stayed and tied that one. The dogs were gone again baying up another one. I took Rocko up a slope towards the bay. I fell on my ass and Rocko got loose. Within seconds the squeel let us know we had ourselves another one. These weren't as big as the first catch. They were about 90 to 100lbs each. We all agreed that we were tired as hell but we all agreed f*** it , lets go get another one. We must've walked that night about a good 5 to 6 miles.(well walked, ran, fell etc.) About 30 minutes after that last catch we heard the dogs baying . This time none of us had the same amount of energy like we did before. Again the hog made for the canal. When we shined the spot light there was a huge hog swiiming its nway across with the dogs on hot pursuit. Once again the dogs wouldn't let the hog come out of the water. Lucky for us we had just passed up a damn that connected to the other side. But still we where running catch dog pulling and shit I was beat. Finally we get there and the hog wanted to swim back across. So we released Rocko. Rocko dove in and caught this badboy. We then did as before and got in the water to drag this badboy out. Only this one was so much heavier and we were alot more tired. But none the less we fought to get it out. To our surprise it was a "HUGE" sow!!! She must've been well over three hundred pounds. Again this is the biggest sow I've seen in the wild. After all that we decided to call it a night. We released that sow cause it was pregnant. Plus we were not going to come back for it...lol. On the way back though we did take one of the smaller hogs (the barr). We killed it and cleaned it out. It took off about 30lbs once it was gutted. I'm sure alot of you who hunt have had your share of dragging a hog back to the truck when there's no 4 wheeler to help. But man This finished us off. We made it back and kept 2 of the four catches.
